Dinosaurs

Our class, P5, is living an incredible trip, a trip through time!!

Our destination : the dinosaurs world!!

Few weeks ago teacher Lídia asked us what topic we were interested to learn about. We suggested many different options, such as the rainforest, cars, princesses, planets, and many others, but “dinosaurs” was the final winner. From that day on we have worked a lot! Especially on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. The first day teacher Lídia asked us what we knew about them. Each one gave her our point of view and she wrote all of them with the name of each pupil.

The second step was asking what we wanted to know about them. Teacher Lídia also took notes of all our questions and doubts.

Our first drawings were really poor and undefined, they proved that we needed to learn a lot from dinosaurs!!

We brought lots of things to achieve our aim: books, photocopies, board games, puzzles, computer games, CDs, DVDs and lots of plastic and rubber figures.

On one of our free tables we created a small exhibition of different types of DINASOURS. We wrote their names and classified them depending on the type of food they use to eat. Some of them eat only plants, leaves, fruit, grass and so on, such as the Diplodocus or the Triceratops, they are herbivorous. But our favourite dinosaurs are the ones that chase and hunt other dinosaurs to feed themselves, the carnivorous: They have lots of huge teeth, they are enormous and run a lot, they are really dangerous and scary, we love them!!! But only when we see them on books, pictures or on the television, of course!!!

We also made our Carnival masks with he pictures of some dinosaurs!

Everyday we learn more and more and we hope our final pictures will be really different and better than the ones we did the first day!!

We are lucky to know such interesting things!! Thank you!!
